ST. PAUL - Michele Bachmann lashed out yesterday at NBC for not apologizing or taking disciplinary action for an off-color song played during her appearance Tuesday on Jimmy Fallon’s “Late Night.’’

The GOP presidential candidate said on the Fox News Channel that Fallon’s band displayed sexism by playing a snippet of a 1985 Fishbone song as she walked onstage. The title of the song is “Lyin’ Ass B--.’’

“This is clearly a form of bias on the part of the Hollywood entertainment elite,’’ Bachmann said. “This wouldn’t be tolerated if this was Michelle Obama. It shouldn’t be tolerated if it’s a conservative woman, either.’’

On a radio show hosted by conservative Michael Medved she called the incident “outrageous and disrespectful.’’

Fallon tweeted to Bachmann that he was “so sorry about the intro mess.’’ Bachmann told Minnesota Public Radio News that Fallon also called her to apologize. She said he told her he was unaware his band planned to play the song. She suggested that discipline for the band, the Roots, was in order.
