For Iowa’s evangelicals, no clear GOP favorite

Major factor in Republican caucus

Atop their list of worries - and something the Carson family in Iowa prays about - is a country undone by financial and moral bankruptcy. That concern will drive them to a local schoolhouse to participate in Iowa’s first-in-the-nation caucuses. The event is expected to draw a disproportionate number of evangelical Christians. But unlike in 2008 when many evangelicals backed Baptist minister and former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee, there is no consensus this time around from this faith community - except perhaps to say anyone but Romney.
