Decision takes Gingrich camp by surprise

In an endorsement made for this city of swank, Donald Trump yesterday capped a curious 12 hours by bestowing his blessing upon Republican front-runner Mitt Romney. Newt Gingrich’s campaign, which had hours earlier made plans to trot out the endorsement thinking it was theirs, downplayed the announcement. Instead of basking in an ostentatious display of support, Gingrich ridiculed Romney over what he called a lack of understanding of what it means to be poor in America.
