Calif. gay-marriage ban found unconstitutional

Appeals ruling may land case in high court

A federal appeals court panel ruled yesterday that a voter-approved ban on same-sex marriage in California violated the Constitution, all but ensuring that the case will proceed to the U.S. Supreme Court.
