Supervisor charged in W. Va. mine disaster

Federal prosecutors yesterday filed charges against Gary May, a superintendent of the West Virginia coal mine where an explosion left 29 dead in 2010. May is the third mine supervisor to have been charged in the wake of the disaster, which was the worst in decades. Last year charges were brought against the security chief and a foreman who had not been at the mine on the day of the explosion.
