White House honors Boston-based programs as ‘Champions of Change’

The White House honored Emmett Folgert, founder and executive director of the Dorchester Youth Collaborative, on Wednesday as one of a dozen leaders named “Champions of Change” for their work as part of a new national effort to prevent youth violence. On Thursday the White House will recognize the Chinese Immigrant Student Leadership program based out of Boston’s Charlestown High School for the pilot program’s work in inspiring the Asian American community and giving the underserved a voice.
