Acquittal, mistrial in Edwards case

GREENSBORO, N.C. — John Edwards’ campaign finance fraud case ended in a mistrial Thursday when jurors acquitted him on one charge and deadlocked on the other five, unable to decide whether he used money from two wealthy donors to hide his pregnant mistress while he ran for president and his wife was dying of cancer.

The monthlong trial exposed a sordid sex scandal, but prosecutors couldn’t convince jurors the candidate masterminded a cover-up using about $1 million, and ultimately, jurors decided tawdry didn’t necessarily mean criminal.

Shame on this man for what he did to his wife for that piece of garbage he bedded. He knew Elizabeth was dying, why did he have to humiliate her the last years of her life???? Cold-hearted scum. I originally wanted him to win. We are all duped by these disgusting politicians. Is there a good one?

And to think this guy marched around the country claiming to be a "family man with family values!

Love the hypocrisy, Bill Clinton Cheated while in office, lied about it, was impeached and was still more popular by the end of his presidency. character must only matter when its convenient. If Edwards was still in office running against a republican all would be forgiven because being conservative is somehow a bigger sin than cheating. Gotta love it lol
