While Utah may be the safest state on Mitt Romney’s electoral map, its population and location are turning it into a vital piece of real estate for Romney’s political strategy. Continuous and fervent enthusiasm for Romney among Utahns - 60 percent of whom share Romney’s Mormon faith - have made it perhaps the most promising source of volunteer labor in the country, which the campaign hopes to use as a staging ground to shuttle workers into competitive neighbors like Nevada and Colorado.
