Senator Scott Brown, the lone Republican in the Massachusetts delegation, sided with his party and voted against a Democratic proposal that allows tax cuts on the wealthiest Americans to expire but keeps in place tax cuts for those making less than $250,000 annually. The measure won passage in the Senate, 51-48, but is vehemently opposed by Republicans controlling the House. Brown also voted against a GOP bill that extends the cuts for all taxpayers.
