Brown votes against extending tax cuts

WASHINGTON — Senator Scott Brown, the lone Republican in the Massachusetts delegation, sided with his party Wednesday and voted against a Democratic proposal that would allow tax cuts on the wealthiest Americans to expire but would keep in place cuts for those making less than $250,000 annually.

Brown also voted against a GOP alternative that extends the cuts for all taxpayers.

With this vote Scott Brown shows he is a Mitch McConnell Republican. His bipartisanship is a ruse. This vote if it had passed would have cut services that would have fallen to the states, raising taxes, not lowering them. Jag warrior Brown seems to forget the thousands of severely wounded warriors who will not be able to get proper services if the tax cuts he favors passes.

Scott Brown throws the middle class under the bus.

out of touch....disappointing.....true loyalties are emerging

Before we cut taxes we need to pay down our $15 trillion debt.

This time I'm on Brown's side. We can't afford tax cuts of any kind. If we combined that with closing all the special tax loopholes that apply to certain businesses and individuals, we'd be within shouting distance of closing the budget deficit. Cutting the national debit is a difficult problem, but balancing the budget is eminently doable without painful cuts in government services.

Unite us? What does that mean? This is a democracy so people will disagree. Is that dividing us? I'm pretty solidly middle class, but beyond breathing the same air and being members of the same species, I have practically nothing in common with Mitt Romney. How much do he and you have in common?

Scott Brown's vote is not too surprising. If you check his record he votes along right wing party lines over 70% of the time when it comes to the "people's" interests. He has voted with big coal companies, big oil, big anything as long as it doesn't do anything much for the average, middle class American which the Tea Party is devoted to wiping out due to our to "liberal" views on what constitutes a fair and united America. Bush/Cheney get us into two wars without raising taxes to pay for either one. Putting it all on credit....and now the Tea Party sympathizer's blame Obama for the deficit. How convenient. American corporations are itching to ship American jobs off shore and get a nice tax break for doing, so which Mr. Romney enriched himself by taking advantage of this fat cat tax give-away to the already wealthy class. And then has the unmitigated audacity to tell us he will be the one to create those jobs he and his company have been so successful at sending overseas , not to mention H1B visa which import foreign workers to take American jobs....well, Scott Brown has clearly shown his allegiance to the Tea Party and it's ruinous plan for the middle class. Not to mention the blue collar workers who seem entranced with the far right's vision of the future....yikes. s
