WASHINGTON — The nearly bankrupt US Postal Service reported losses on Thursday of $57 million per day in the last quarter and warned it will miss another payment it owes the Treasury, just one week after its first-ever default on a payment for future retiree health benefits.
From April to June, losses totaled $5.2 billion, up $2.1 billion from the same period last year.

made promises they can't keep, sounds just like our public sector...
Forget the stamp collectors. Show you're serious about cutting costs and eliminate the create art department and the special print orders. I would be a good symbolic move. We only need ONE stamp for each class.
Allow the postal service to charge more to send and deliver mail to suburban and rural addresses. If you want the luxury of living in more open spaces, go ahead, but don't expect city dwellers to subsidize you.
This is what happens when bureaucrats negotiate Union contracts. After all, it isn't their money.
