Gives new meaning to the word "a-hold." The US Congress has always had its share of ignorant jerks, but the number has increased in the highly polarized tea party era. Why is it that most of the misguided, extremist nitwits are housed in the Republican Party--increasingly the party of know-nothings? This is the nut house that Romney--whose only core value is to become President without standing for anything--has warmly embraced.
Why I won't vote for Scott Brown: By Monday morning, top Republican officials were calling on him to resign, with strategist Mike Murphy summarizing the sentiment in a tweet: "Akin should put good of GOP first and resign nomination now after his idiotic comment. Senate control too important." yes, it is too important.
geez, what a twit.
The same sentiment has been expressed by Democrats regarding John Tierney. It's called politics.
Now hold on there, Mr. Akin. You've got your science mixed up. You're thinking (not the best word) that the cervix locks the door and the uterine lining puts on its kevlar vest during a rape so a fertilized egg can't take up lodging. But as we all know, it's the sperm that take decisive action. When it's not consensual sex, they refuse to follow the script and leave the poor ovum alone. They go back to watching ESPN. Get your facts straight!
It's those off-the-cuff remarks that really reveal the measure of the man and what he truly believes. Too late, Mr. Akin, you can't take back those words the next day. Yes, you "mis-spoke", by speaking out loud what you actually believe. So, now the voters of Missouri have a real choice for Senator, between a 21st century candidate and a 15th century candidate.
How does Akin's ignorant comment compare to Obama's voting FOR Partial-Birth Abortion and AGAINST the Born-Alive Infant Protection Act? It doesn't! His comment is stupid, Obama's ACTIONS are monstrous! Democrats, spare me your "outrage" at Akin, you never express any outrage at anything any lefties do, so stuff it!
The democrats got all excited about Akin's comment, and are trying desperately to blame all Republicans for it. They're grasping at straws, and this looks like a possible straw to them. It will only affect one Senate race. If a democrat had said anything that stupid, would THEY be demanding he step aside, as Republicans are doing with Akin? Nope, they never admit that any leftie ever does anything wrong, and certainly never condemn one of their own for anything, and everybody knows it! Their hypocrisy knows no bounds. Their outrage is but sound and fury, signifying nothing.
