An outbreak of fungal meningitis linked to a Framingham pharmacy has grown to include two more deaths and 33 more infections, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported. The outbreak has also spread to an 11th state, Idaho. There have now been 170 illnesses and 14 deaths linked to the steroid shots for back pain.
The medication has been recalled.
Other states affected include Florida, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Tennessee, and Virginia.
