WASHINGTON — Buddy Brown was supposed to fly a mission over Cuba that day. It was called off.
The flight of his friend and fellow U-2 pilot, Major Rudolf Anderson Jr., was not. So as Brown went golfing with other fliers, his eyes frequently scanned the skies.

What would Willard Mitt Romney have done given the same circumstances? Draft dodgers like Romney and Cheney are very bellicose. Mitt might well have pushed the button - just like he will against Iran. He is owned by the Israeli lobby, among many other special interest groups promoting an even stronger military offense.
Eternal gratitude to Andy for his service and sacrifice!!
This was a beautiful and moving tribute to Anderson. My only question is what possessed the Soviet commander in Cuba to order the shooting of Anderson's plane? Didn't he realize the stakes?

Now, this is an article worth reading. I, too, share in the respect and appreciation for Anderson's service. Thank you.
The world owes a debt of gratitude to the Soviet Commander of the submarine for ignoring orders to attack with his nuclear tipped torpedoes when threated by American destroyers trying to force him to surface.
