LUCASVILLE, Ohio — Ohio on Tuesday executed a condemned killer who calmly went to his death still claiming he was innocent of stabbing a woman 138 times, slitting her throat, and cutting off her hands.
‘‘I’m good, let’s roll,’’ Brett Hartman said in his final words.

You see, it's not so much about actual guilt or innocence, it's about providing closure and that feeling of relief on the part of the victims family, the prosecutors, and the public at large. So, hey, he might have been innocent but lots of innocent people get whacked every day -- it's not enough to keep anyone up at night. Congratulations, Ohio, on being able to move on despite the annoying carping.
