Senator Lindsey Graham, Republican of South Carolina, said Sunday that he would be willing to violate Grover Norquist’s ‘‘Taxpayer Protection Pledge’’ to strike a deal with Democrats to address the so-called fiscal cliff.
In a separate interview Sunday, Representative Peter King of New York echoed the assessment of a fellow Republican, Senator Saxby Chambliss of Georgia, who said last week that Norquist’s pledge may be outdated.

If Norquist and his pledge had any credibility he would have run for office himself.
Uh huh.... the Glob is on the case... betcha the writer of this penetrating assessment has a bit more news in hnis ringed notebook - the Republicans mentioned in this story are holding their breath until the absolutely right time to convert .... to Barry the O's very own Democratic Party. . . Now that would be a story that rates a byline, unlike the other one in today's paper where the guy who wrote it scanned the internet and found a really newsy piece in a British daily newspaper that was worth that Globie's very own byline. . . Not plagerism, mind you... just journalistic silliness at play.. .
