Inquiry ordered on Army day care

WASHINGTON — President Obama called the secretary of the Army to express concerns over arrests and the discovery of problems with background checks at an Army day-care center and to urge a speedy investigation, US officials said Wednesday.

A White House official said the president called Army Secretary John McHugh Tuesday and said there must be a zero tolerance policy when it comes to protecting the children of service members.
