Boehner schedules Friday vote on Sandy aid

WASHINGTON (AP) — Under intense pressure from angry Republicans, House Speaker John Boehner agreed Wednesday to a vote this week on aid for Superstorm Sandy recovery.

Comments

The real reason the bill was dropped is that New York and New Jersey both voted for Obama.

Things were going pretty good with Gov. Chris Christie. He was playing well with others and even took a few jabs during an interview with Jon Stewart. Now, he's all cranky again. It will come back around and be blamed on President Obama's trip to Hawaii.

Republican or Democrat, Speaker Boehner is a disgrace. He is a figurehead, a joke. Governor Christie, this is your party.

Replies

People can say what they want, but John Boehner could really go down as a great leader if he looked to history for advice. We are wasting precious time and having to bring Mitch McConnell in to sub for Boehner just shows the real trouble we are in. Bob Dole used to whip up support by working weekends and long nights.
