Amtrak loses $361m; best since 1975

WASHINGTON — Amtrak’s fiscal 2012 operating loss was the lowest in nearly 38 years, which is a sign of progress, Joseph Boardman, the railroad’s chief executive, said Thursday.

The $361 million loss was down 19 percent from the previous year.

Sell it. The Government should not be involved in wasting our tax money this way. If it is viable, the private market will do it.
