RFK Jr. says he doesn’t believe Oswald acted alone

DALLAS — Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is convinced that a lone gunman wasn’t solely responsible for the assassination of his uncle, President John F. Kennedy, and said his father believed the Warren Commission report was a ‘‘shoddy piece of craftsmanship.’’

Kennedy and his sister Rory spoke about their family Friday night while being interviewed in front of an audience by Charlie Rose at the Winspear Opera House in Dallas. The event comes as a year of observances begins for the 50th anniversary of the president’s death.

Most Americans believe that Lee Harvey Oswald didn't act alone. The Kennedy family knows all, but the government's "Don't Ask Don't Tell" on government crime prevents the real story from surfacing. And the national media remains silent. dougkinan@yahoo.com

Loads of research into the subject as to whether Oswald was one of the shooters prove beyond a reasonable doubt that he could not  have been one of the shooters at all with his slow loading, Italian rifle, oddly left behind for investigators to "find," and shooting a bullet through the view-blocking leaves of a tree, and with a bullet which could, apparently, take right and left turns. But, of course.

Another point: Why does not God intervene and stop the evil we see on planet Earth?  God, the creative force sustaining the universe, acts only through his creatures. In that sense, you can say that the creative force can stop evil, but not directly, as if the Force were an individual. God is like the electricity, boundlessly intelligent electricity, lighting up the Christmas tree, so to speak, of the universe. Could God have prevented the Holocaust. Yes, his human creatures could have, but HE (HE is not a He nor a She and certainly not an It) gave man free will, who has it in his capacity to do the right thing, though, clearly, he not always does so. But mankind can copassionately intervene. In that sense, God who made man, can intervene.

That's the nature and structure of life. God exists, yes, but not in the way we think he does. This boundlessly intelligent force created human intelligence and compassion. Unfortunately, right now life is not perfect because misguided people can do harm in the name of doing good. Evil is misguided ignorance. Mankind is still in a state of evolution before compassion and right thinking will finally rule the planet but it takes time, apparently. God is good but things grow slowly, damn slowly, under the present, divine administration of things.  In that sense, God is not perfect because his creation is slowly developing but what we have is certainly better than nothing.

Compassion will finally rule the Earth, maybe in another thousand years, maybe even more, I would like to think. Though we've been on this planet for a  million years or so, we still slaughter and torture each other. We also enjoyed burning people alive. Remembet that? : "But ya gotta have hope, lotsa and lotsa hope.," from Frank Sinatra's "Rubber Tree" song.

As to the rifle, you forgot to mention that the rifle ( a piece of junk) cost $12.95.
