Kerry to divest some financial holdings

Move aims to avoid conflicts of interest at State Department

WASHINGTON — Senator John F. Kerry and his wife, seeking to avoid possible conflicts of interest, will sell nearly 100 separate investments in the United States and abroad if the Massachusetts Democrat is confirmed as secretary of state.

Kerry will appear before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Thursday for his confirmation hearing, in which he is likely to face multiple questions of about his views on foreign policy and the direction he wants to take US diplomacy in President Obama’s second term.

Should a sentor have investments in a weapons company??  Disgusting..

Yeah, this is really impressive, maybe John Kerry should DIVEST in STATE STREET (STT) Corp after it has off-shored hundreds of Massachusetts jobs from North Quincy and downtown Boston, namely the John Hancock Tower and the six floors above Copley Square, and he was aware of this for over a year and did nothing about it while State Street donated generously to his "reelcetion campaign".

I am sick of hearing about John Kerry and all of his "service: in Vietnam.  I want to hear more about people like "JOHN KIELY" - who was a US ARMY Ranger and was missing in action for sevreal days deuring the TET offensive north of HUE very close to the North Vietnamese border.. John Kerry could carry my Uncle John's duffle bag .....

Should a Vice President have a controlling stake in a company the prosecutes a war? Obviously, the answer to both questions is 'no', but such is the United States these days.

he has money abroad, wow, I though it was only Romney that did that.

Remember how the democrats demonize Mitt Romney for being so rich.....yet John Kerry is the richest member of congress....okay to be a rich democrat but not republican....especially one that tried to stiff his own state of $500 thousand dollars in sales tax. Double standard anyone, and a person that lied about fellow soldiers in Vietnam.. First question to be asked to him: Will he read any e-mails from ambassadors begging for more security. Second question: Egypt gets 4 new high tect jets & tanks...what will he do if they are used against Israel, because their Pres. Mosi hates them so much.
