STEPHENVILLE, Texas — A 25-year-old man was charged with murder in connection with a shooting at a central Texas gun range that killed former Navy SEAL and ‘‘American Sniper’’ author Chris Kyle and his friend, the Texas Department of Public Safety said Sunday.
Sgt. Lonny Haschel said in a news release that Eddie Ray Routh of Lancaster was arraigned Saturday evening on two counts of capital murder. Officer Kyle Roberts at the Erath County Jail said Routh arrived there Sunday morning and is being held on a combined $3 million bond. Roberts did not have information on whether Routh had a lawyer.

I'm not sure I consider either the perpetrator or the victim as the "good guy" in this story. Sniper or not, it's difficult for me to consider someone who brags about killing 150 other human beings as a hero.
Although most battle hardened patriots don't talk too much about what they did, I assume his missions were given to him as orders and he carried them out with precision. If what I read about him is correct, he was indeed a hero on the battlefield regardless of how anyone who has never walked in his boots feels about it. It's highly likely he drew blood that we will never know about. God Speed to a talented man.
Rest in peace Chris Kyle and Chad Littlefield. Thank you Chris Kyle for your service to our country. I'll wait for the investigation results before making any other comments.
