Massacre survivors take lead in calling for gun law changes

WASHINGTON — The mass shootings that have rocked communities across the country in recent years — from Blacksburg, Va., to Tuscon to Aurora, Colo., to Oak Creek, Wis., to Newtown, Conn. — have left a well-documented trail of carnage and grief.

But those tragedies and others like them also have produced what could prove to be the most formidable, fervent advocates in the looming fight over US gun-control policy: Survivors who know what it feels like to be in the crosshairs of a mass murderer and outspoken families who have lost a loved one to gun violence.

Evidently the auther of this article did not notice what Joe Biden recently said.  Joe told everyone that the proposed gun control legislation was more "symbolic" than anything.  That they didn't really expect it would prevent anymore tragedies.

What we really need is an article explaining what the irresponsible actions of a President and several governors have resulted in.  Namely, virtually all so called "assault weapons" being sold out,  ammunition sold out, semi automatic pistols scarce.  What does this all mean?  Americans are armed like never before, more weapons have been put in the hands of untrained people by the stupidity of a U.S. President and power hungry politicians.

New York state is teetering on the edge of massive civil disobedience because of poorly crafted gun laws.  Over 250 county sherrifs across the country have stated they will NOT support laws that violate the 2nd amendment.  Legislation has been introduced barring federal agents from enforcing such legislation in several states.  It is widely acknowledged this legislation has virtually no chance.

Yet here we are, reading a worthless piece of news about victims fighting for laws that will not get passed?  What is the point?

Les, I am not responsible for your inability to read and comprehend, take that up with your local educators.

You are right, worthless does come to mind.  All of Barry's theatrics are proving to be worthless.  Fascist is also very fitting, witness what happened in NY, contrary to the laws of the state, a governor pushed through laws with no public discussion.  Truly fascist.

What are you scared of Little Boy?  That you will have to take care of yourself, rather than have a Nanny Government change your diapers?
