Frail teen found cuffed in basement

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Authorities found a frail 17-year-old boy handcuffed to a pole in his parents’ Kansas City basement, where he said he’d been kept since his father withdrew him from school in September.

Police said Wednesday that they were still investigating and hadn’t turned over any of their findings to prosecutors for consideration of possible charges. The teen was put in the custody of child services.

Those parents should be jailed, and never allowed to see their son again.

Good lord what is the matter with parents in the midwest? There are too many reports of horrible behaviours of child confinement and torture. What is the socioeconomic tenure out there? The schools, and the social support systems?  Where are the churches?

Something is serously the matter and the situation ought to alarm all of us.

This just makes me sick and want to cry.  How could anyone treat another living creature like that, never mind your own child?  Atrocious.  I hope that boy finds a loving and nurturing comforter to help him heal.
