WASHINGTON — The 2001 vote in Congress to go to war against Al Qaeda and the Taliban in Afghanistan has become obsolete in the face of new threats, and the law should be reconsidered, according to a politically diverse range of lawmakers, diplomats, and international legal experts.
The Authorization to Use Military Force, approved three days after the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks, gave the president authority to “use all necessary and appropriate force against those nations, organizations, or persons” that “planned, authorized, committed, or aided the terrorist attacks.”

Eliminate both the authorization and the patriot act.
Right On! The "Patriot Act" is one of the biggest misnomers ever ! It legalizes making Americans virtual prisoners through laws enacted by their own country.
This congress is not capable of doing anything that involves brain power. I belive that the present congress is the biggest enemy the people of the US have. This is what happens when we elect religionist to office. The only solution we have is to elect sane atheistic people to office. They are the only people who will act with reason. As long as people of religious faith are in power the situation will not change. When was the last atheist induced war? Religious faith will get us all killed.
Try Adolf Hitler.
Unfortunately, Hitler was no atheist, the Devil maybe but no atheist.
Hmmm...the Democratic president has success with foreign policy and the hawks who gave an evangelical president W this authority to kill bad guys now say they don't like it? The Right wants its foreign policy back so they then blame President Blackman when one of those bad guys, subsequently not killed by the "new" policy on drones, does something really 911-like. At least the liberals are opposed for real reasons, but the neocons now opposed just want to enhance the chances of the next prez being Republican.
are you a truther?
I guess I'd call it ultimate denial of reality, handed out by the race card.
This is among the dumbest comments in the history of of the internet.
Don't denegrate yourself so much. It's dumb, but not even close to dumbest.
Try to have a little fun and the rightwingers don't like it...oh well...Cheers!
