Senator vows to hold up defense, CIA nominees

Wants answers on Libya before allowing a vote

WASHINGTON — Senator Lindsey Graham, Republican of South Carolina, said Sunday he would hold up Senate confirmation of President Obama’s nominees to head the Pentagon and the CIA until the White House provided more answers about the Sept. 11 attack against a US installation in Benghazi, Libya.

Graham accused the White House of ‘‘stonewalling’’ requests to release more information about the attack that killed four Americans. ‘‘We’re going to get to the bottom of Benghazi,’’ he said on CBS’s ‘‘Face the Nation.’’

What an hole ! What do these guys have to do with something that happened two months ago ?

Question away on what their policies and philosophies are now and in the  future but if you want to question them for a period that they weren't on the job, that's highly unfair to hold up their cofirmation.

Then, Lindsey Graham has always distorted what he is supposed to do and is hubristic about his place in the Senate, where he should be humble and do the right thing.

I understand Senator Grahaham is commencing a seance to question President Lincoln about the Emancipation Proclamation.

Senator Graham

I like the first way better.  I thought you were signalling what a joke Senator Grahaham is.

I am tired of Sen. Graham's dog & pony show.  If he's so damned sure that there's a cover-up, then have Congress issue subpeonas to White House & Pentagon officials and compel them to testify.  If evidence to justify subpeonas is lacking, then he should be made to stop being an obstructionist and playing politics with this tragedy.  Ambassador Stevens and the three security personnel should not be used as political fodder by either side to advance political agendas.  It is obscene for so-called responsible public officials to act this way and it is a perfect example of everything that is wrong with politicians, not just in DC, but throughout the nation.

Why must we endure the blatherings of this epicene nonentity? His only aim is to somehow get at this president. He has nothing to contribute. This Benghazi thing has become the only tool the right wing can wield, and so wield it they will!

Love the use of "epicene."

Thanks, Michael. I was thinking that when I mentioned his high, childlike voice, but I didn't have the nerve to say it.

Graham is just another typical Republican blowhard worthless idiot.

All the president has to do is admit that he organized the entire thing!  He ordered the killings himself after putting the final planning in place for the Newtown shootings.  All you have to do is listen to Glenn Beck and you can be as informed as much as I is!  Obviously, good old Lindsey and I are getting our information from the SAME sources!

If the NY Times hadn't said today that the GOP is weak, this wouldn't have happened.

Hagel wont be confirmed anyway

Hide and watch.  He most certainly will.

Wrong. He will be confirmed. Graham is doing this only because he is up for re-election next year and has to look tough for all those southern right wing nut job voters.

And also from todays's NY Times;

  Op-Ed Contributor <nyt_headline type=" " version="1.0">A Tax to Pay for War <nyt_byline> By R. RUSSELL RUMBAUGH Published: February 10, 2013
  • NOW that Congress has discarded the idea that taxes can never be raised, we must change how we pay for the wars we ask our military to fight. We should institute a war tax. "

Just wait for Iran's mullah's to read this. They will be DROOLING!

That means when Obama keeps saying "All options are on the table" with regard to Iran's nukes..They already know that Hagel and Brennan will do nothing with regard to Iran.

All of America's options will STAY on the table.

This is Benghazi, Part II coming right now. And don't say that you weren't warned.

stupid move, yes. but intentions are right:

this guy is the ultimate kracker....from the state that started the Civil War. SC is the bizarro state of our Union....everything is backwards down there starting with states, segregation, the d-heads like graham they send to Washington.....it is also the reason the South lost the Civil War....too many guys like graham who had blinders on as a permanent vestige.....

The extremism of your statement is very close to bigoted. While I might have a lot of disagreement with Southern conservatives, not everyone in the South fits that description. And conservatives in the South (and elsewhere) are generally decent people.

It might surprise you to know that Fort Sumter was 150 years ago. Do you really think Massachusetts is anything like it was 150 years ago? Did you know that people in the South wear shoes? Did you know that they can read?

While I'd much rather live in Massachusetts, I don't think of people elsewhere as being sub-human. What makes you so superior?

It's not just Graham's obstructionism. I can't stand the timbre of his voice. It's high and childlike. He sounds something like a young kid having a tantrum.

Imagine if he was in some position of power where we had to listen him all the time.

Why doesn't Graham ask Rush Limbawler what happened.....Rush seems to know everything.

I suggest that it is time for Senator Graham to make a long fact-finding trip to Benghazi, with some of his colleagues.
