LOS ANGELES — There was no question. The man standing before Rick Heltebrake on a rural mountain road was Christopher Dorner.
Clad in camouflage from head to toe and wearing a bulletproof vest packed with ammunition, the most wanted man in America was just a few feet away, having emerged from a grove of trees holding a large, assault-style rifle.

I have absolutely no complaint as to how this stand - off ended but with respect to the fire, David Koresh could not be reached for comment.
What BOLOGNA! If one listens to the radio transmissions, a deputy can be heard saying "Burn the (expletive deleted) down". THEN the "pyrotechnics" are lobbed into the place.
This is another example of the media doing a marvelous job of whitewashing an incident.
Notice we have not heard diddly about the cops who just shot the heck out of those women in the pickup truck from behind either. The cops just started shooting, they were under no threat, those newspaper ladies don't carry guns. In fact, it was the WRONG color truck!
They were out to execute Dorner and they have suceeded. The least the media could do is report it that way.
As bad as Dorner was, we do not have police execute suspects in this country. If we are going to start doing that, we might as well save a bunch of money and get rid of the judicial system.
Absolutely right. I listened to that scanner on youtube 6 or 8 times just to make sure I was hearing it correctly. I dont care how pissed you are, I dont care if Dorner killed the entire night and day shift of the responders, the police can not act as Judge, jury and executioner.
What about the two women in the pick up the cops shot at? Apparently two small light skinned Latino women looked just like one large dark skinned male . Even if you have a "shoot on sight" order you still have to verify the target. You dont shoot because you THINK it MIGHT be him
There was only one way to end that standoff and that was with gas, lots of it. Gas often causes fire. An entry would have been impossible. He showed his willingness to kill cops. There was no other way that was going to end.
