New group seeks to ‘strengthen progressive movement’

WASHINGTON — Two top political consultants to President Obama are forming a public advocacy group funded by donations from wealthy individuals and corporations. It is aimed at making political and legislative changes at the federal and state levels.

The Organizing for Action says it will be nonpartisan and steer clear of election activity, although the line between issue disputes and electoral politics can be fuzzy. The first of an expected wave of ads on gun control, for example, has targeted only Republicans.

How deliciously marvey. . . Barry the O's cronies setting out to form their very own little political party... using the same initials that Barry used for the 2012 election campaign. Ain't these Demomob Karl Rove wannabes just the most cleverest organizers you ever heard of. And of course, they want it non-partisan... 'cause how could they declare themselves a third party if they swore allegiance to the current Demomob. This gang obviously plans to pull Soviet-style political dogmatism, with Barry the O the major figurehead for a new cult of personality. Man... where are the barf bags?

This has to be one of the scarier articles I've read in along time. The opening paragraph sums up everything I need to know about this "progressive movement". More government bureaucracy and legislation from those who are so much better equipped to tell the populace what is good for them and make sure that laws are enacted to bring about their version of utopia. This is the most dangerous form of hubris imaginable.

Yup, this is one dangerous bunch alright.  Progressive?  Hardly.

Wealthy individuals and corporations getting together to make legislative changes?  Really?  How does that work under the constitution?

The republicans promote regressive movements, like the Club For Growth, so why shouldn't the democrats promote progressive movements?
