GOP governors up for reelection turn pragmatic

Shifts evident onhealth care, immigration

WASHINGTON — Many Republican governors who worked to thwart much of President Obama’s first-term agenda are shifting gears and softening their rhetoric now that his run was extended for four more years and they’re facing their own reelection.

These state leaders are offering greater cooperation on health care and skipping the tough talk on immigration, taking a cue from voters who in November’s election expressed their opposition to partisan gridlock in Washington.

Looks like the Republicans themselves don't believe their own idiotic right wing bs.

Yup and now even Jan Brewer is crying the blues over the sequester.  She wants a deal, Walker wants a deal.  That is the big problem with the party right now.  It is all rhetoric and not practical.  They need to get back to what they are good at, governing.

Too bad republican pols did not remeber that it is their job to "keep the trains running" in 2009 when health care reform was being debated  ... same goes for lots of democrats that just leveraged their votes for their own special interests.  Everyone should read Steven Brill's Time magazine cover story on the US health care system.  We, as a nation, need to get past the stupid idea that health care is, and should be a free market.  By its very nature, It is not, and can not be a free markt.  When you are sick, there is no shopping around for the care you need.  When you are shopping for a primary care physician and none are taking new patients, you have no choice but wait until you are sick and then go to the emergency room.  The large insurance companies have just enough leverage on pricing for the big ticket items that it screws up the rest of the "market" as providers see to get rich off off the little stuff.   Wake up America.
