Boehner says candidates, not policies, led to November losses

House Speaker John A. Boehner suggested Thursday that candidates and personalities — not Republican proposals on Medicare and spending cuts — contributed to Republican losses in November, as he vowed to press forward with a House budget plan that renews the push to shrink the government.

In short, the Ohio Republican said in an interview that November’s election losses would not deter his party from pressing its vision of reducing the size of government and turning government health care programs largely over to the private sector.

There is a possibility we may be witnessing the beginnings of first political extinction since the late 1850's when the Whig party disintegrated because largly discredited, the electorate evolved beyond it.

Denial is not ust a river in Egypt.

As long as the Republicans keep deluding themselves in thinking that their policies are not creating the beginning of the end of Abe Lincoln's party then the Democrats have nothing to worry about.

As the saying goes, conservativism can never fail; it can only be failed. Whenever conservative politics fail, and they've failed a lot in recent years, the GOP has to shift the blame onto individual candidates.

Old, white and male.  These days, anyone who fits that description is pretty much a target.  It is interesting how liberals have defined the Rep's as OW&M.  Take a look around and one can find plenty of old, white male democrats.  Both in congress and in their party.  Look around and one can find plenty of young Republicans.

What the lefties have always been good at is labeling, much better at it than the righties.

What are you talking about? Get a clue. Your time is up and I for one am happy to see people like you die off.

Being republican means never saying that you were wrong. BTW I'm an OWM and I think that you and repugs are disgusting.

Oh and I'm rich too.

I've always wanted to see what a dinosaur looked like.  How they behaved.  What they thought.  Wondering what happened to them.
