After son comes out, Portman changes gay marriage stance

CINCINNATI (AP) — Republican U.S. Sen. Rob Portman is now supporting gay marriage and says his reversal on the issue began when he learned one of his sons is gay.

Ohio’s junior senator disclosed his change of heart in interviews with several Ohio newspapers and CNN. In an op-ed published Friday in The Columbus Dispatch, he said the decision came after a lot of thought.

So when the Senator was voting about other people's children, he had to follow his Methodist faith. But when his own child is involved, he comes down on the side of compassion. Just like Dick Cheney. Hypocrites.

Funny how people change their tune once it happens to them. Expect the same from those protesting Obamacare, abortion, gun control, etc. Panderers, hypocrites, fakes.

Nothing like getting your butt kicked at the polls to foster such a heart warming story.  Just like Saul of Tarsus on the road to Damascus.  Republicans all  over the country will be saddling up to do that gig.  Bet on it.  This convienent conversion won't be the last from born again refugees delivered from the party of Tea Bag Jesus.  Of course this adversity will only strengthen the faith of the true believers, followers of  the Blessed Libaugh.  Either way the party of Lincoln has come a goodly distance from its noble heritage.

He publicly declared his change of heart only after the presidential election and 2 years after his son came out.  "Thanks, Dad, for consulting your pastor about whether you love me or not."
