Hillary Clinton announces support for gay marriage

WASHINGTON (AP) — Former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton announced her support for gay marriage Monday, putting her in line with other potential Democratic presidential candidates on a social issue that is rapidly gaining public approval.

Comments

Really? Did everyone else assume that she was a known supporter?

sure, now that its politically necessary. but what about when it was against her and bill's interest to do so? Back then, not only did she not back gay marriage, both she and bill opposed it, going so far as to sponsor the federal law prohibiting the government from recognizing gay marriage and benefits for gay spouses of federal employees or permitting IRS deductions for gay marriages. And she supported the attem[pt to give states the supposed right to not recognize gay marriages performed in other states. And why does the globe leave that out in its news story that discusses clinton's sudden support ofr gay marriage?

Liberals evolve and conservatives flip-flop.

Hillary: "I, Bill, and the entire Democratic Party were against Gay Marriage a few years ago. Barack Obama favored the Defense of Marriage act while campaigning for president in 2008. We expect our loyal news media to not point this out".

She's still wearing her freaky glasses!

What does she think about infidelity?
