Conn. governor issues travel ban

Connecticut Governor Dannel Malloy issued a statewide travel ban beginning at 9 p.m. on Monday as a potentially historic blizzard bears down on the region.

“Please prepare a plan to get home this safely evening and find a place to stay through the duration of the winter storm,” the governor wrote on his Facebook page.

Blizzard conditions are expected throughout the region with 20 to 30 inches forecast for parts of the state, according to the National Weather Service.
