Casino magnate Sheldon Adelson donates $5 million to pro-Gingrich committee

Casino magnate Sheldon Adelson donated $5 million to a super PAC supporting former House Speaker Newt Gingrich’s Republican presidential campaign, The Washington Post reported today. Adelson also plans to spend another $5 million during the presidential campaign, either helping Gingrich or the eventual nominee, the Post reported. Last month, Politico reported that Adelson considered spending up to $20 million helping Gingrich. The former House speaker has faced a barrage of negative advertising from a super PAC supporting rival Mitt Romney.
