Mitt Romney paints Newt Gingrich as ‘influence-peddler’ for Freddie Mac

Newt Gingrich is a former professor who prides himself on his knowledge of history. But it is Mitt Romney, the man with business and law degrees from Harvard, who has lately been providing the lectures and history lessons on the stump. “They called them GSEs – the old government-sponsored entities like Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae,” he said here this afternoon. “I hope you understand how these things work. This is the most strange structure you’ve ever heard.”
