Mitt Romney’s Florida victory renews target on President Obama

In all primary campaigns, there comes a time when the likely nominee pivots from his party rivals to focus on his general election opponent. Mitt Romney, though, has had that orientation almost all along. He built his 2012 primary and caucus campaign on the idea of displaying indomitable strength. He suffered a setback in South Carolina, but after his Florida primary win, Romney made his pivot back to targeting President Obama and not primary opponents Newt Gingrich, Ron Paul, and Rick Santorum.
