Secretary of State William Galvin’s prediction of GOP turnout in state primary is on target
Massachusetts Secretary of State William Galvin was spot on. Galvin predicted before Tuesday’s Republican presidential primary that between 350,000 and 400,000 voters would turn out. In fact, 367,418 voters cast ballots, or 14 percent of Massachusetts’ total Republican and unenrolled voters. The Massachusetts race was not heavily contested. Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney won easily, with 72 percent of the vote.
