Turnout in GOP primaries continues to be tepid

Voter turnout was down from 2008 in five out of seven states that held their Republican presidential primaries on Super Tuesday, according to a new analysis by the Bipartisan Policy Center. The analysis found that voter turnout dropped from 2008 in Tennessee, Georgia, Oklahoma, Massachusetts, and Florida. It went up in Vermont and Ohio. It did not measure turnout in the three states that held caucuses. The study’s authors warned that the low turnout could hurt Republicans in November.
