Scott Brown’s campaign says it will pay $35,000 to comply with ‘People’s Pledge’ violation

Scott Brown’s campaign plans to announce today that it will write a $34,545 check to the charity of Elizabeth Warren’s choice, after both sides agreed that a third-party group had broken the so-called “People’s Pledge” to keep interest groups from influencing their US Senate election. Earlier this week, the American Petroleum Institute took out radio and print ads denouncing the Democrats’ plan to eliminate subsidies for energy companies. The industry-funded group urged Brown to oppose the measure.
