Romney called for mothers on welfare to get jobs

Mitt Romney last week declared his belief that “all moms are working moms,” but he insisted as recently as January that women on welfare need to get jobs, even if they have young children. Both Clinton AND Romney: They don't know their blanks from their elbows when it comes to combating poverty and helping single parent families. Loose canons with arrogance instead of understanding, they advocate for positions on mothers on welfare that has little to do with social science research and everything to political expediency.

Why is this news, Callum? Is this supposed to be a "gotcha" moment? That will help you get promoted at the Globe!! This is not news. You seem to be implying hypocrisy, that Mitt actually wants single Moms to work, even though his wife stayed home. Dear Lord, is the Globe now in full panic mode? Ideally, all Moms should stay at home. But in the real world this is not possible. But what is possible is that all Moms should be married.

so what's your answer to combating poverty, mine is to help raise them out of poverty, that starts with educating, training and community service. Give people an incentive to better themselves, and give back. 3rd and 4th generation welfare is destructive, that's all they know, time to change that with help.
