Education secretary voices support for gay marriage

A day after Vice President Joe Biden offered a nuanced take on gay marriage, Education Secretary Arne Duncan on Monday left nothing to interpretation. Asked during an appearance on MSNBC whether he believes same-sex couples should be allowed to marry in the US, Duncan gave a straight answer: “Yes I do.” Some political observers took the vice president’s words Sunday as an endorsement of gay marriage, but White House and campaign officials quickly refuted that analysis.
