British Prime Minister David Cameron and England’s famously tough media tweaked Mitt Romney Thursday after the presumptive Republican presidential nominee suggested that London might not be ready for its Olympic moment.
“It’s hard to know just how well it will turn out,” said Romney, who ran the 2002 Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City. “There are a few things that were disconcerting: the stories about the private security firm not having enough people, supposed strike of the immigration and customs officials, that obviously is not something which is encouraging.”

Mr. Romney is not an elected official and is not a U.S. diplomat. What on earth are British government officials meeting with him for?
Romney is an IDIOT and an embarrassment to the US of A. God forbid he get anywhere NEAR the oval office. He was not among them UNTIL he wanted the presidency so bad he will do ANYTHING, say anything, keep things hidden just to get the presidential seal behind the podium. He is mendacious and an empty suit. He runs in 1994 pro choice and pro gay, runs in 2002 with another view but NOW it's the worst. He has betrayed EVEN his father. Mitt how do you feel when you look in the mirror every day and see a traitor to your father and what you used to be. If Barack Obama can go out of his way to insult the British government and people by returning a statue of Churchill from the WH and by giving CD's of Obama's speeches to the Queen, then Mitt Romney can offer comments on British preparations for the Olympics. At least Romney knows something about how to organize a successful Olympics. Barack Obama doesn't seem to know anything about the historic alliance between Britain and the US.
Even on the simplest level of courtesy when you are a guest in another country Mr. Romney flubs it and quite frankly badly. He is not aware of his surroundings and belittles other's achievements. If you cast a vote for Mitt Romney and if elected be prepared for many cold shoulders from allies. It has been shown time and again when there is an international crisis our Western attachments are critical. Is this Mr. Romney's idea of not apologizing? If you think his wife will rein him in her "you people" remark should put that on the back burner. Someone who is so clueless should not be President of the United States.

Your defense seems to always be point out a supposed similar thing by Obama. That's no defense at all. Often their not very similar, but even if they were exactly the same, wrong is wrong. Changing the subject is not a defense, it simply indicates you HAVE no defense.
Because there's a 50% chance that Romney will be our next President. And in 2016 British government officials will consider it in their best interests to meet with the candidate or candidates, and so on.
It's also not true. Obama did not give the Queen CDs of his speeches. He gave her an inscribed iPod loaded with music, photos from her visit to the US, one of his speeches, plus a rare musical songbook signed by Richard Rodgers. The UK is a walk in the park diplomatically and he managed to step in it. Think what he'd be like in an actual problem situation!
During hthe Bush years...all the years of all the Bushs...I could not listen to one thing the President had to say. It was like chalk on a blackboard to me. I cannot abide Romney and I never could. I hope that I am not looking to 4 more years with earplugs....sigh.

The new media is reporting on untrue statements. Mitt Romney did not suggest that London might not be ready for its Olympic moment. The flaws were suggested by the news media days before Romney's interview - he merely summarized what the news media had already reported. To be fair the news media needs to do the same thing to obama to achieve balance in distorted reporting.

This is the same ole, same ole MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING***** Get over it - Just last month (June, 2012) Obama referred to America's ally, Poland, as having the World War II-era Nazi concentration camps in their country! Obama made a much bigger diplomatic gaffe - when he erroneously referred to America's ally, Poland. According to Obama,the camps were "Polish" camps! WRONG. However, on the other hand to express concerns about 'terrorist' activity and the 'security firm' not fulfilling their commitment to provide sufficient staff are NORMAL & legitimate concerns.
On the other hand, poor Barack Obama doesn't seem to know anything about the historic alliance between the U.S.A. and any other country. After four years Obama still hasn't figured out the major U.S. trading partners!
