Elizabeth Warren won’t give keynote at DNC

Elizabeth Warren will not deliver the keynote speech at this year’s Democratic National Convention, but instead will speak immediately before Bill Clinton speaks on what party officials hope will be an energetic penultimate night.

Warren and Clinton will speak in prime time on Wednesday, Sept. 5, and form a one-two punch aimed at crystallizing the choice between President Obama and Republican Mitt Romney in the general election, the Obama campaign said.

It was reported that First lady Michelle Obama looked fit for a queen when she attended an Olympics reception at Buckingham Palace on July 27, and some critics are complaining that her silver embroidered jacket cost a king's ransom. Although not yet in stores, the white, capped sleeved number by J. Mendel lists for $6,800. Outrageous - I thought she was a democrat who fights for the poor? For comparison. Kate Middleton (royalty) wore a $60 dress.

Sure, why not?

And here I thought Republicans were all about letting people who have earned their wealth to spend it however they'd like. More to the point, what does this have to do with anything? Are you really that desperate to find fault with what has been an incredibly competent and moderate President that you're attacking his wife's clothing?

So we understand you have something against Native Americans. Somehow you don't think they should be part of the American fabric. Your smallness is evident each morning you write. Keep it up though. It highlights the difference in people that each senatorial campaign attracts. By the way what is Scott Brown's role at the Republican Convention? What gives with this he-man's courage that he can not stand in front of his party and a national audience to voice his views? You are betting on the wrong horse.

This Globe article's headline is bit off from reality. It is an honor for anyone to speak at such a gathering and, as you do mention, in prime time. She is preceding an ex-president with an approval rating of over 60% and you imply that she should be in that spot. The Convention is about recognition of Democratic Party achievers. It is an impressive achievement for Prof Warren to have been chosen to speak to her fellow Democrats and the nation. This is not so in Tampa where Scott Brown will be missing in action on their stage. Don't the people of Massachusetts deserve to know why he has been snubbed or why he has chosen not to speak?

Oh good. Can't wait for the dog and pony show. All Together Now, let's sing Kumbia

There are over 5000 words in the English language not including names. When I read that party officials hoped to have a "penultimate" night I reached for my Websters. It read, "next to the last as in next to last person to die". Confused, I wondered at the use of penultimate for Clinton as the second of a ""one-two punch" as Ms Warren leaves the stage. Is this where "second to die" comes in? Sounds like a restful night. I next read that LA's mayor said Warren is a leader who is 'rebuilding the economy from the middle class out". Then Warren said, "kids like me need a level playing field" where we can fight heartless corporations and rebuild the economy the republicans broke. If this "prime time" evening succeeds in chrystalizing anyones choice, it will be to hit the remote and switch th channel to an action movie. Ms Warren's photo makes her look like a brown mop chopped off around the edges and Mr. Clinton, while historic, is yesterday's potatoes warmed over. Will this keep me awake at this time of night as these two wave to their adoring crowd? Personally, I'd rather watch Dirty Harry for the hundredth time say, "Make my day".

Barry the O and his Chicago Demohack cronies evidently don't see Lizzy the bankruptcy Hahvud prof as either deserving or capable of - as Globe Demoprop Johnson puts it - "vaulting" from a convention keynote into a significant election victory. Maybe that is a comment that Lizzy's a dullard in the speechifying arena, or that her focus on consumerism is a tad too narrow for the Demomob this particular year. As for Monica's favorite giving the keynote... that says lots, like keeping Hillary at State rather than headed for the White House. Will the Lizzy and Billy remarks do much to tip the unemployment scale and GDP grown towards positive as Barry tries to untie himself from Mitt?

More Glob comment section computer glitches... LOL... Looks like Johnson controls the computers as he generates psychobabble about Lizzy and Willy and Barry's apparnet view that Lizzy doesn't deserve the frontline role.

Who cares? NOBODY believes anything she says anyway.

The middle class is being hammered The middle class is being hammered The middle class is being hammered The middle class is being hammered The middle class is being hammered The middle class is being hammered The middle class is being hammered

Maybe we can get Scott Brown to join in since he will not get his time in the limelight at Tampa. I detect a bit of resentment that her Party honors her while ostensibly the most popular politician in the US is going to keep quiet in Tampa.

The great Oz has spoken. Now let's draw the curtain and see who is really standing there.

As for the GDP and unemployment scale maybe if the Repub legislators passed some temporary funds to states and infrastructure projects that would help some. They could also let the top earners start to pay their fair share and actually get more back than they put in with the turnaround to a more prosperous USA. But the big kahuna is those uncaring Americans who are hoarding their cash to a tune of over 1 trillion dollars instead of investing in American workers. That is where the big paydirt lies. Mitt Romney will only continue the same Repub policies of GW maybe unleashing some of that pent up cash but don't expect returning workers to earn any higher salaries. The probability is they will earn less since the Bush economy put them on the ropes and are desperate to make ends meet. The paycheck to paycheck generation will continue under Mitt Romney. His own record at Bain is proof#1.

You are going to have your undies in a bundle when Lizzie Little Feather gets hammered in November?

Lizzie Little Feather fits right in with the rest of the moonbats at the convention. She's toast in November. There is NO speech that can save her.

"fair share"

If you cannot see that Warren has been a stooge sent to MA from Washington DC to run for this seat, I have a bridge to sell you. She has been "awarded" this race because she was looked over for that Consumer agency position. If you read the Globe's article on her this past Sunday, she comes off as someone without any personal skills. Those on the left like to think it's because people are afraid of her, I think (after reading that article) that people just plain don't like her. And really, the dems are salivating at the chance to "reclaim" as they put it kennedy's seat.

OETKB - the "big Kahuna" is Obama, who would rather pay Wall Street and Solanydra and his campaign donors!
