Tension between Mitt Romney’s campaign and the press corps traveling with him abroad boiled over Tuesday in Poland, with reporters complaining about a lack of interview access and a Romney spokesman telling the journalists to “kiss my [expletive].”
Footage of the exchange shows reporters shouting questions at Romney as he was leaving the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Warsaw.

If it's a "holy site" why is Romney staging a media even there?
Asking questions? Can you imagine the nerve of those people? If they're this testy during the campaign, what would they be like when they're running the country?
While Rick Gorka may have been right at that particular moment (re: the location), I think the questions are fair game. Romney is my guy but he needs to be hardened to what might be ahead of him. Let these "reporters" do their best to get the story and flay him out for us to see. I'll measure him beyond mere policy and position issues to see if he has what it takes to be on a world stage.
Not sure it was a staged event. The media hoard would congregate in places like a mens room stall if that's where they can create a story. If Romney was there paying his respects, it's all good. If he was in full campaign mode, then I agree with you.
It seems to me that Romney doesn't feel he needs to speak to reporters because he has all he needs to win the election with full support of mega millionaires. He has alienated many people including people who prefer not to go to war anywhere. The deep pocketed war machine is very happy. Romney will put on the makeup and slick suit and look real presidential when he answers these questions in a commercial ready for primetime viewing. Money in our elections is immoral and has undermined our democracy. However, it's really good business for advertising firms. Let's have some live debates already and get the citizens of this county talking. Who says we need a debate with candidates. Let's have debates on the issues! Actually, that's what happens on wbur. Today, they had experts on both sides of the immigration debate. A republican strategist who was promoting Marco Rubios ideas as well as an illegal immigrant advocacy group. Anyone who says that public radio is bias hasn't ever listened to the program and instead is listening to what they want to hear. Get educated people. The system is working against you and you are letting it happen. Campaign finance reform now.
'A day earlier, an unnamed Romney adviser was quoted in a British newspaper as saying Romney's "Anglo-Saxon heritage" would give him an advantage over President Obama in relations between Britain and the United States.' Romney's not 'my guy' - guess why? He needs to disavow this immediately. He himself - not a spokesperson.
"Governor Romney, do you feel that your gaffes have overshadowed your foreign trip?" another reporter asked. the "gaffes" are all media made. Why should he answer their absurd, biased questions?
I agree with you. Not sure who is vetting these spokespersons and advisors but they really need to do some housecleaning. Can you imagine any candidate talking about their heritage being an advantage be it Anglo, Asian, or African in any rational way? Yoinks! Add to that the alleged comments made by the advisor to the reporters. I think Mitt should add some practical purpose that maligned phrase he used last spring about liking to be able to fire people.
I'll tell you this No eternal reward will forgive us now for wasting the dawn I'll tell you 'bout Texas Radio and the Big Beat Soft drivin', slow and mad, like some new language Now, listen to this, and I'll tell you 'bout the Texas I'll tell you 'bout the Texas Radio I'll tell you 'bout the hopeless night Wandering the Western dream Tell you 'bout the maiden with raw iron soul
What is the big deal?
Title : "Romney aide reprimands reporters for asking questions in Warsaw" Text: "Footage of the exchange shows reporters shouting questions at Romney as he was leaving the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Warsaw." Question: Do you think the Romney aid may have objected not to the questions, but to the shouts, and the rudeness, and the "why do you beat your wife" wording? The title seems quite an abstraction from the story. Suggested new title: "Leftist reporters embarrass America in Poland" or "Political paparazzi run amuck". You should be able to do your reporting in a more neutral manner.
You think Romney's gaffes were all media made??? Sorry but I didn't see a reporter cramming his foot in his mouth every time he opened it! Even arch-conservative reporters were dumbfounded; Krauthammer was sputtering.
Oh, just shake the Etch-A-Sketch! Problem solved, right?
Very well said: It's quite shocking, really; the American press has berated Romney from start to finish on his overseas trip, plastering "gaffe" headlines and questioning how much damage, from their perspective, Romney has done to allied relationships. It's a dazzling absence of self-awareness displayed by the media here. I'm not sure screaming questions and "gaffe" to a presidential contender as he finishes laying a wreath at a sacred Polish site helps relationships with our allies. The "decorum" the press speaks of apparently doesn't apply to the reporters screaming at the top of their lungs graveside, but Romney for choosing not to politicize a burial site. http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Journalism/2012/07/31/MSM-Should-Have-Stayed-Home
"Poland's legendary dissident, Lech Walesa, can't vote in the U.S. presidential elections but he has nevertheless decided to let his preference be known. He gave a strong endorsement to Mitt Romney, the presumptive Republican contender and declared disappointment with President Barack Obama's record" http://blogs.wsj.com/emergingeurope/2012/07/31/walesa-gives-romney-strong-endorsement/?mod=WSJBlog&mod=emergingeurope SORRY, Globe. Mitt wins the Polish vote in Boston and elsewhere.
Lech who?
Quite a crew if advisers and spokespeople ol' Rombo has around him. Of course, because he has no core principles and stands for nothing but being elected, those who represent him have to make it all up as they go along. Regardless of one's politics or view of the media, we're fortunate that the media are on the job. Rombo will not be able to avoid removing his mask and detailing his evanescent policies. He will be hounded into submission and admission--despite what his misguided fanboys want to believe.
Rileysdad, Governor Romney is always in full campaign mode. But to be fair, that's true of all pols, D or R or I.
Mitt should have stayed home. This is one disaster after another and it is beyond critical mass. There is so much to criticize that the queue is full! Well, we know that his price is $100 million, complements of Sheldon Adelson, who doesn't care who wins as long as he can exert some influence on the Republican. Newt should really feel sad. He let the big one slip away! Ever wonder why these money magnates give millions? Do they expect something in return? Governor Romney and his team have achieved the impossible: they are making President GW Bush and his team look polished.
Such a holy place that Mitt stages a photo op there. If he came out from behind his advisors and actually faced someone who doesn't work for Fox News we might take him more seriously. We might not have to shout questions at him. Does he know if he wins , he doesn't get a script. He just looks afraid. When Ike was president, he got to appoint many Supreme Court justices. His last appointment was a Democrat. When questioned by his party, he replied that he was president of all the people. Does Mitt get it?
