WASHINGTON — After seeking millions of dollars from a stimulus spending program he had publicly opposed as wasteful, GOP vice presidential candidate and congressman Paul Ryan repeatedly denied making the requests, first on a Boston radio station in 2010 and again Wednesday in a television interview.
Audio from 2010 provided Thursday by WBZ indicates that Ryan, responding to a caller, said that he would not vote against something and “then write to the government to ask them to send us money.” He added: “I did not request any stimulus money.”

Ryan is a fanatic disciple of "philosopher" Ayn Rand, the beacon of light that all these right-wing hypocrites use to cast an intellectual glow on their selfish and stupid ideologies . Rand, an advocate of cruel greed as the basis of the social compact, also rejected science -- in particular, the facts linking smoking and cancer. She got lung cancer, and rather than pay her medical bills from her own independent libertarian "don't help me or anyone else" pocket, she took Medicare and Social Security (http://www.alternet.org/story/149721/ayn_rand_railed_against_government_benefits%2C_but_grabbed_social_security_and_medicare_when_she_needed_them?page=0%2C1) -- saved, after spreading to the world all her ideological b***s***, by the very programs that Ryan and his cabal now wish, in her loving memory, to steal from all of us. Ryan and Romney and their ilk peddle morals for other people, but have none for themselves. Why do people follow these liars and thieves? That's the question. Ignorance? Stupidity? Greed? Selfishness? Stupidity? Oh, wait, I already said that.
Commenting only on Dan Rea. I've always respected Dan not only for his relatively well rounded philosophical views but his on-air style. He's never afraid to challenge a friend or foe if he knows the facts support his stance. What little I know about Paul Ryan, I like. Dan should moderate a debate between Ryan and Biden. Now that would be funny. We'd have to spot Biden some points just because he'd get crushed in the process.
This little episode is revealing of Ryan condemning publicly the recovery package while privately behind the scenes advocating for constituents to Washington agencies, claiming that the money would save jobs. Well, I can't wait to see Ryan flipflopping all over this one -- at least Ryan has a pro in Romney to help him with the contortions. The only problem is, Ryan is caught lying on tape. Nice choice, Mitt.
NOBODY but the Globe and some moonbats care! Let's focus on the REAL issue; lack of jobs and a President who has done NOTHING about it. The true unemployment rate is closer to 15% because many people have just given up looking. In the Black community, unemployment is close to 30% and the Latino community is almost as bad. Hope and change have gone to desperation!

What the Globe must do now is see if that stimulus money worked out for Wisconsin! Once again, all the paid Right Wing posters here are all for obscuring the facts rather than actually disputing them.
How much do they pay you; I'd like in on the deal?

System, veterans under every president with exception of WWII have always had a higher unemployment rate than the civilian population.
The only difference is that with this President their unemployment may be PERMANENT!
Stick to the facts, cindyloulou. "May be" isn't just a guess, it's one of your excessively nasty fantasies.
Hey System. A flip-flop doesn't apply here. It was a barefaced lie. And of course, liars who are caught seem to always have memory problems. We've been through this uncounted times, sometimes in politics and sometimes in criminal court. No matter how young and personable he is, he has the makings of a crook. That's the big difference between him and Romney. Romney flip-flops because he wants to be elected, but I wouldn't consider him a crook.
Everybody who disagrees with you is a moonbat? Only someone with serious mental problems would think that.
It's the same mental disease the caused Ryan to conveniently forget the letters. :-)
I think it's partly because some of these weird posters think they'll be among the anointed when their gods take over the country. Of course they'd be first to be treated like chattel because their gods would have no respect for those who slither on the floor and kiss their shoes.
Waffles are always better in pairs.
As Captain Renault said: I'm shocked, shocked to find that a politician said one thing and did another! Okay the real quote was about gambling, as he pocketed his winnings...
A candy-colored clown they call the sandman Tiptoes to my room every night Just to sprinkle stardust and to whisper: "Go to sleep, everything is alright" I close my eyes Then I drift away Into the magic night I softly sway Oh smile and pray Like dreamers do Then I fall asleep To dream my dreams of you
I don't have a problem with Representative Ryan seeking or accepting stimulus funds after voting against them. His district deserved its fair share after the bill passed. However, I do have a problem with him lying about it afterward.
He looks angelic in that Oliver North kind of way. People believe what he says.
Two-faced, lying hypocrite. Bite the hand that feeds you, and then beg for more. Why can't Republicans tell the truth? The truth is that the reason why we send people to Congress is to get stuff for us. Call it pork, or call it a fair share of revenues. But don't deny that you took it.
The only two people that deserve to be unemployed are Romney and Ryan.
Ryan means he was for the stimulus before he was against it. Or is it against it before he was for it? Oh, golly, gee, Mr. Rove, what do I say now?
Just another Republican hypocrite. Remeber how Curt Shilling loudly complained about government hand-outs, until he asked for one. Too often they say one thing and do another unless someone makes the effort to point it out.
If the media ain't with you, then it must be against you. If the media isn't conservative, then it must be liberal. There's no room in your fantasyland for unbiased reporting. An objective evaluation will show that conservative media- Fox News, talk radio and dozens of pro-corporate websites are far more likely to misrepresent the true facts, thus tricking well-intentioned fools into believing that the system actually works.
