Senator Scott Brown said today he was asked to play a bigger role at the Republican National Convention but limited his attendance to a single day because of scheduling demands, not concern about fallout for his reelection campaign. Brown would not specify what expanded role he was asked to play, but he denied trying to distance himself from the GOP’s more extreme elements as he faces his own stern challenge from Democrat Elizabeth Warren in traditionally Democratic Massachusetts.
