After months of long-distance sparring, President Obama and Mitt Romney attacked each other face to face Wednesday during the first presidential debate on a wide range of domestic issues from taxes to the deficit to health care. Obama assailed Romney’s plans to cut taxes and spending as a financial burden for the middle class. Romney, in turn, said the country cannot afford four more years of an anemic economy.
