My first post last night was a little over the top because I was SO happy that the VP was a TIGER.  If you go to a conservative blog you will be reading only about style NOT substance.  The VP KNEW he had to deliver the base and he SURELY did.  We were out for bear and we got it.  The experience of Joe Biden showed.  There was no match.  And on Afghanistan Biden knocked Ryan out of the water.  Ryan knows little about it.  He is much too inexperienced and they are a trigger happy ticket.  It's easy to bloviate from a chair in a college auditorium MUCH harder to do in reality when one MUST deal with allies who want NO MORE WAR, the American people who want NO MORE WAR and the indiginous people of Afghanistan if we stay forever will just hate us more and find a way to God forbid attack us.  The Afghanistani street wants us out of their country.  Even Ron Paul says that.  Ryan said he went to Afghanistan several times and Joe said he went 1200 times more. It was laughable.  And Biden laughing?  Well I'd rather have that then someone looking down at a pad of paper taking notes.  

What you have to know:  Republicans say they are about the 100% but they are NOT as Romney was caught red handed saying he knows he lost the 47%. Repubicans lie ALL the time which is why it is so hard to keep up with them in a debate unless you have a memory that remembers the date you first learned to tie your shoe.  But Biden hit those lies and hammered his opponent with them.  KUDOS, VP Biden.  You did a FANTASTIC job.  It was EXACTLY what the doctor ordered.  In the morning i.e. now I did not have to wake up and say what went wrong.  EVERYTHING for those of us who are progressive went absolutely right.

A voucher for Medicare will leave seniors ultimately with money that is laughable to pay for the humongous costs of health care.  It's simply ridiculous and takes the onus off of the government help those who cannot help themselves.  It will in a word leave you ultimately BROKE as a voucher system will leave the 99% incapable of affording health care and permanently broke if a catastrophic illness ensues.  As people age we KNOW most do not leave this earth easily in their sleep at age 95 with no prior illness.  We age, our bodies break down over years and ultimately death's release comes with dollar bills attached to it.  It's the reality of our culture that can extend life well beyond the average span of our species.  We are a patchwork of treatments that cures nothing but keeps the human body functioning.  THAT requires big bucks in pharmaceutical, doctor and hospital costs.    KUDOS, VP Biden.  You did a FANTASTIC job.  It was EXACTLY what the doctor ordered.  In the morning i.e. now I did not have to wake up and say what went wrong.  EVERYTHING for those of us who are progressive went absolutely right.  

I thought both Ryan and Biden did well articulating and representing thier differing views.  The debate will have no impact, however, on the momentum of the election which now heavily favors Romney.  Romney now knows what to expect from BO in the second debate and will be ready for it.  Playing from behind in a debate is tough because the other guy is seen as more of an authority.  The only guy who seems to not know how to debate is Obama.

Americans can now understand the dissent & grid-lock in Washington.

Biden is obnoxious, condescending, and boorish.

Obama cannot debate/discuss or talk without a TELEPROMPTER.

The two in a meeting, must come across as Frat boys.

I am surprised to see this article under the subheading "news analysis." It should be labeled opinion. It fails to mention the frequency with which Paul Ryan asserted false information. In the style of Ronald Reagan, Ryan demonstrated the adage that if you say something often enough to be so, then it must be so. While I personally did not like Biden's smugness, he held firm with facts and positions that give me some hope that being a politician still allows you to be forthright and honest.

Biden was way past being a "tiger". He was bordering on a display of insanity. His actions were unbecoming of a VP or any other office. At the end of the "debate" he tried to close the deal with the "who do you trust?" theme which was perfect given his lack of self control & respect for Paul Ryan or the facts in general. His carnival barker act should assure you that a President Biden would be a loose cannon. I shudder to think that man has been a few heartbeats away from being a president for the last four years.

Here's another false equivalancy article. Biden showed heart,guts,passion.intelligence,vast experience.He was real. Ryan sounded shallow,actuarial,not youthful but juvenile. I was very glad to see Biden call Ryan on some of his lies and inconsistencies. Why would we want to vote for someone who would raise cost for Mediacaire recipients by $6400/year and raise taxes for middle class and lower them for the wealthy,someone who,as pointed out by Biden,voted against the rape and incense exemptions for abortions,someone who voted to cut Embassy security funding by huge amounts,someone who will not tell us which tax loopholes he would close to make up for huge,further tax cuts for the rich. Biden and Ryan are not equivalant.

Last night’s debate woke up voters as to how scary it is to have Biden as VP.

Putting theatrics aside for whatever value that has we did learn some important policy differences:  1)  Romney/Ryan think we should fight proxy wars in Afghanistan using our soldiers  2)  Outlawing abortion would be the law of the land, following religious precepts  3)  Supreme Court Justices would be selected to bring down 40 years of women's rights  4)Turn Medicare over to private insurers with decreasing govenment ability to cover benefits forgeting the rate of medical inflation is double overall inflation  5)  Social Security should be privatized  6) Make huge cuts in taxes on income, capital gains, and estate taxes that for 47% of people means no change at all and for the top 3% major income they do not need 7)  Continued belief in "job creators" when their present profit is at record levels, with lowest taxes in 50 years, and still operating with loose regulations.  These are all the conditions for supposed business investing that occurred in the past and voila it produced the worst recession since the depression with no easy government ability to rectify it. 8) So called small business owners that show little profit since they pass it through as salary and therefore does not show as true earnings.  Now go vote.

VP Joe Biden came off as an ignorant boob,  and he is a heart beat away from being president.  Lets pray that Pres. Obama stays alive.

He is either a senile elderly person that you must pity.  To sit there and make faces, over talk when it is not your turn to speak and he thinks he is funny.....this is what is running our country.

Lied about knowing about Lybia attack when that day at the security house meeting when the attack was happening they were talking to the state dept.  saying they were under attack.

To me the adult in the room was Paul Ryan...time for Joe Biden to retire or become a comedian if he thinks everything is so funny.  This economy and $16 trillion in debt is not funny.  But then if you think jobs is a three letter word...what do you expect.

You can't debate with a liar, you just can't" Gingrich said this after a primary debate against Romney. I am surprised more Democrats aren't using this line. To me, it excused Biden's actions. One cannot just sit there and pipe up every 30 seconds and say, "You are lying." So Biden's facial expressions and gestures did that (In combination with replies when Biden had the opportunity). Biden was a truth meter.
