DANVILLE, Ky. — Vice President Joe Biden and challenger Paul Ryan were feisty and combative on Thursday night in their first and only debate, providing a relentless, quick-moving exchange that outlined stark differences between their campaigns.
From foreign policy to federal spending to health care, Biden and Ryan used statistics, rhetorical jabs, and humor to fashion a pointed discussion that differed strikingly from the debate last week in which President Obama often seemed listless and disengaged.

What a condesending old crack pot Biden is. Great Job representing our next President Mr. Ryan
Totally agree. The only point I had any sympathy for Joe Joker was when he brought up his wife and daughter. Other than that I wanted to slap him for his antics. My son is on a foresics team (speech & debate) at his school. He's 14 and even he was shocked at Biden's disrespect for his opponent. My son had the wisom to point out that when one's argument is weak or even false, the person with the talking stick often increases thier volume and repeats themselves word for word. It wasn't about emphasis, it was about his disrespect for anyone else but him. This was furthered by him continually pointing at the moderator as though she was his target audience.
Biden was no worse than Mr. Brown's condescending, smug, sarcastic put-downs of E Warren. (Good luck to Riley.)
This one stuck: We need the republicans to "get out of the way" so we can pass a jobs bill. Also, Watch second part in this videao where Bill Moyers interviews the director of the Annenberg Center for Media about Factcheck and decoding the candidates words. Her interview starts at the mid point. http://billmoyers.com/episode/full-show-decoding-the-campaigns/
were there any racial code words??
@begolfing: that's your department.
tie. But, personality goes to Ryan. Biden looked like the Joker and he lied about Benghazi and Medicare
Biden is a buffoon. This condesending dottering old fool is a heart beat away from becoming President. What a horrible thought!
Right. Let's get Palin in there instead!
Hey honestman. Better still lets put Big Bird in as Dem VP. He should would be a lot better than that fool Biden.
Americans can now understand the dissent & grid-lock in Wshington.
Biden is obnoxious, condencsending, and boorish.
Obama, cannot debate/discuss or talk without a TELEPROMPTER.
The two in a meeting, must come across as Frat boys.

Before you cast your vote, ask yourself this question: "would you buy a used car from Paul Ryan?"
I sure would but I'd never buy anything from Joe Biden no matter if it was on Craigslist or at his Fuller Brush tent at the Big E.
Ryan and Romney lie quite a bit. It's incredible that Middle Class Republicans stay Republicans since the only people Republicans truly support are the 1% where money talks (gets their vote). Wise up you Middle Class Republicans. Vote Democrat!
Biden knocked it out of the park. Deep knowledge produced rebuttals that made Ryan look like prevaricating amateur he is.

”If a wise man has an argument with a fool, the fool only rages and laughs, and there is no quiet.” –Proverbs 29:9″
That explains our "L-O-L" guy.
true
Last night’s debate woke up voters as to how scary it is to have Biden as VP.
Joe Biden spent the first half looking like an idiot with those faces and then spent the second half beating-up Martha Raddatz, as if she's runnning for VP. Then he interrupts Ryan virtually every time Ryan opened his mouth. If that wasn't bad enough, Martha Raddatz would interrupt Ryan when Biden wasn't! And why did Raddatz ask probing questions of Ryan but never once from Biden? Did she become afraid of Biden? Women, do you approve of how Biden treated Martha Raddatz? Women, do you approve of Obama lying to you for ten days about a terrorist attack on the anniversary of 9/11?!? Women, do you think it is wise for Biden to pile three more Libya lies on top of the lying mess they already have? Very strange debate. Democrats ate it up but I suspect it didn't help Obama one iota. And with reason!

Good morning Begs. It's very considerate of you to supply a link, from Breitbart, to the alleged lies on one side of the debate. I'm sure the right-wing readers here are happy to see it. I feel I must in response post a link that includes said lies from both sides: http://factcheck.org/2012/10/veep-debate-violations/
thanks, adds to the debate.
Honestman, what did you think of Biden;s giggling and interupting. Was quitre strange. And, how did Ryan drink that much water and not have to pee!

I didn't think it helped his (my) cause any- I would've preferred he keep a straight face, for the most part. And I *was* wondering that about the water- it made me have to go!

1st big bird. now big joe.
Biden was Biden, and I've always liked him. Aside from his politics, he'd be a great person to know and talk with. Ryan, on the other hand, is one of those people who knods in your direction but never makes the connection.
I try to be respectful on this forum, but I find it a difficult goal when somebody writes a post that's a diliberate exaggeration or falsehood, or merely echoes something they've read elsewhere. Some people deserve no respect, and Ryan is one.
I did think the question about religion was inappropriate. It would have been fine if a candidate had brought up his religion on his own, but asking them to reveal there inner religious thoughts on any issue was just plain wrong, in my opinion.
"I try to be respectful on this forum, but I find it a difficult goal when somebody writes a post that's a diliberate exaggeration or falsehood, or merely echoes something they've read elsewhere. Some people deserve no respect, and Ryan is one." WC1940...... why would you serve up an attempt at affording respect and than contradict it in the same paragraph? You weaken what is already an already anemic position.
Because Ryan engaged in diliberate exaggeration and falsehood. A huge amount of it, in my opinion. And to become Romney's Vice-Presidential candidate he had to appear to flip-flop on issues that were once seemingly important to him. I don't think he really changed. He believes what he did before. It's a subterfuge.
In terms of the politicization of this — you know, we are here at a debate, and I hope we get to talk about the debate — but the entire reason this has become the political topic it is, is because of Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan. It’s a big part of their stump speech. And it’s reckless and irresponsible what they’re doing.
Begs, maybe I'm not too sharp today (or anyday?) but I've got to say: you lost me here, I dont even know to what or whom you're referring.
sorry, Obama's campaign head - StephaNIE Cutter
