Nearly two weeks after a debate in Denver that altered the rhythms of the presidential campaign, President Obama and a reenergized Mitt Romney prepared to meet again Tuesday night at Hofstra University on Long Island. The 90-minute debate, scheduled to begin at 9 p.m., had been designed as a “town hall” format in which the men would field questions selected in advance from a pool of undecided voters. Candy Crowley of CNN will be the moderator.
