US Senate candidate Richard Mourdock stands by comment that pregnancy from rape ‘something God intended’

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Indiana Republican Senate candidate Richard Mourdock said Wednesday that he is standing by his statement that when a woman becomes pregnant during a rape ‘‘that’s something God intended.’’ He says some people have twisted the meaning of his comment.

After he has had such an experience Mourdock may then be qualified to comment. Until then, he should let God speak directly as to what God intends.

What's even worse, is the National Republican Senatorial Committee's response to the statement! Isn't Senator Brown's campaign advertising being financially supported by the National Republican Senatorial Committee? Hmmmm....

I am confused.  I understood Richard Mourdock to mean that even if a women was raped she should not be allowed to have an abortion because God thinks all life is sacred.  Is he changing his mind about this?
